Children are important here.In fact, they're so important to us, that they have their very own service, Church for Children, or CFC for short.
We belive it is never to early to begin teaching a child about the Bible. Thats why, from the nursery to our church for children we make Christ the focus of our teaching.
Using play, puppets, worship, and lessons from scripture, we try to reach the heart of each child as we teach them about Jesus.
CFC takes place every Sunday Morning at 10am, and Wendsday evening at 7pm.
4twelve gets its name from 1Timothy 4:12, which says: "Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity."(NIV) Our aim is for this verse to be true of the young people at Cornerstone.
4twelve is our ministry for teens and young adults in high school and college. It is a place for young adults to worship, grow in their knowledge of the Lord, and in community together. 4twelve holds weekly youth services every Wednesday evening at 7pm in the youth building.
We may be a small church, but we have a heart for the nations. Cornerstone proudly supports missionaries in Haiti, Hondouras, Jamaica, mexico, Guatemala, Latvia, Russia, Kenya, Congo, Mali, and the United States.
We have a place for everyone here at cornerstone, from newborns to the elderly, and everyone in between. Whether you are an individual coming alone, or a family toting along several little ones, we would love to have you as a member of our community.
More importantly, we want to see you grow in your knowlegege of Jesus Christ, his love for the world, and his saving power.
There are many oppourtunities to get involved at Cornerstone, and we welcome volunteers. From music and nursery workers to ushers and prison outreach, there is sure to be a way for you to use your God-given talents to share the gospel.
Cornerstone Ministries began in early 1982 with a small group of people meeting for a weekly Bible Study in a duplex on Railroad Ave. in Morgan City. One night, a fire broke out, destroying the building and forcing the small group to find a new location.
After much prayer, the group decided that they wanted to be more than a Bible study, they wanted to be a church. For several months, they held church meetings in Pastor Tommy Fromenthal's home until a building could be found.
In June of 1983, one side of an old paint store became available at 404 Everett St. On July 7th Cornerstone Ministries held it's first meeting in it's new location.
The Church grew steadily, and soon a small building across the street from the church was rented out as a children's area. In 1985, the entire paint store building was purchased.
As the Lord blessed, it became apparent that the building was not going to be large enough to accomodate the growth of the church. In November of 1986, the property at 308 Everett St, formerly the Opera House Theatre, was purchased, and rennovations began.
The first service was held in the new building on April 21st, 1987. We continue to meet and grow in this location today.
As time has passed, the Lord has continued to bless, and today Cornerstone Ministries owns four buildings in historic Morgan City.
Over the years, we have seen God do some tremendous things, both in the church and through the church as we continue to reach out to those who are lost and hurting in our community. We have also seen a great change in downtown Morgan City through the years.
We invite you to come and be a part of history in the making, here at Cornerstone.
1. The Bible is the mind of Christ, and is inspired,. It is the only authoritative word of God, and is without error.
2. There is one God manifested in three personalities, Father (Deuteronomy 33:27; Psalms 90:2; 1Timothy 1:17), Son (John 1:1-2; John 8:58; Hebrews 1:8; 1 John 1:3), and Holy Spirit (Hebrews 1:8; Acts 1:8)
3. Satan is real, and his present control over sinful man does exist
4. Jesus Christ is God. He has existed from before the beginning of time and was born of a virgin.
5. Christ lived a sinless life. He performed miracles, died for our sins, rose from the dead, and sits at the right hand of the father.
6. There will be a second coming of Christ, including a rapture of the saints followed by the visible return of Christ with his Church to reign on earth for one thousand years.
7. Man is fallen and sinful. This brings about death, both physical and spiritual separation from God.
8. Man's Only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God. Salvation is recieved through repentance toward God and Faith in Christ.
9. Believers will be ressurected eternal life in heaven, unbelievers are ressurected to eternal punishment in hell.
10. Water baptisim is necessary in identifying with Christ in his death, burial, and ressurection.
11. Baptisim in the Holy Spirit, who bestows spiritual gifts, such as the word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healing, working of miracles, prophesy, discerning of spirits, and speaking in tounges. These gifts have been present since the day of pentecost, and will continue until the day of Lord's return.
12. Divine healing is a part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement, and is the privledge of all believers.

Herb came to Cornerstone Ministries in September of 1991. He soon began working with the children's church praise and worship team. In 1995, he took over as the childrens' pastor, and in 1997 he left his job in the offshore oil and gas industry. He was ordained to work in full time ministry as the children's pastor and church administrator.
Herb and his wife Anita have been working with our Children for more than 20 years. Along with the Power Surge team, he has traveled around the world leading an exciting and Spirit-filled children's ministry.
Pastor Tommy and his wife Anita were both saved in 1979. In 1983, the Lord called them into full-time ministry.
Cornerstone Ministries was pioneered as a result. Their vision is to exhalt the Lord, equip the church, and to extend the kingdom of God.
Tommy and his wife Anita have been blessed to minister to our Morgan City congregation as well as abroad from time to time.
